Look! Drew Barrymore’s character is such a fun-loving guy’s girl! She watches sports and who cares if she has sauce from chicken wings on her face! What a down-to-earth character completely different from any other female lead in any other romantic comedy!
Sauce on the face, but not on the fingers. That means that she’s so down to earth that she simply eats the hot wings off the plate like a hungry dog, gnawing bones into a digestible pulp while she does it. So yeah, maybe she really is something special.

could i possibly like sufjan stevens more than i already do? the earnestness of this dude is just mind boggling. listening to his music is like sitting down to a multi-course feast while wearing the most comfortable sweater you ever had. but not in a weird way.
last night i watched sci-fi cult film, “a boy and his dog.” above is the trailer.
this movie stars don johnson as vic, who ambles around a post-apocalyptic landscape with his highly intelligent, dry-witted, sardonic, telepathic dog, blood. . world war IV has left the surface world desolate, barren, and devoid of any of the common social dignities that allowed such luxuries as not being enslaved by a dastardly fat man who rides around on a modded out golf cart and forces you to arbitrarily dig holes while he eats peaches. vic is a happy bandit, sharing sunsets with his loyal dog, looking for popcorn to eat and women to rape, until he is abducted by a dystopian underground society bent on harvesting his sperm.
vic realizes that perhaps the surface world, even for it’s canned-peach eating despots, may be a more civilized place. hell, at least you can get into a straightforward fight with a man over a can of beans on the surface, amiright?

Sufjan Stevens Unveils The Age of Adz
Just 6 days following the surprise digital release of his 60-minute EP, All Delighted People, Sufjan Stevens has announced the October 12 release of his next full-length album: The Age of Adz. According to Asthmatic Kitty, the Adz (pronounced “odds”) LP “sounds nothing like” last week’s 8-song set:
We can say it shows an extensive use of electronics (banjos and acoustic guitars give way to drum machines and analog synthesizers), and an obsession with cosmic fantasies (space, heaven, aliens, love), to create an explicit pop-song extravaganza, augmented by heavy orchestration, and maybe even a few danceable moments.
