LOST TIDBITS
Producers revealed that Harold Perrineau (“Michael”) and Cynthia Watros (“Libby”) will be back on “Lost” for the final season, which debuts Feb. 2.
Re: The premiere:
“The premiere is like — ‘What? Wait. Let me read that again,’” said Jorge Garcia.
“It felt like a finale — that kind of scale,” said Josh Holloway.
“I think i had to read it three times before it made sense,” said Emilie de Ravin.
“Get ready to scratch your heads America!” jokes Lindelof (sort of).
Re: The finale:
— “It would be great to cover my bases and guarantee a shitty ending to ‘Lost,’” Lindelof said. “The worst ending we could possibly provide is the safe ending — the ending that is basically most appealing to most number of people. Yet you can’t take a risk just to take a risk because that’s a betrayal … there is certainly a hope that everybody universally loves the ending. But i don’t think it would be ‘Lost’ if there wasn’t an ongoing and active debate. If I could put on my predicting hat, there’s going to be some that think it’s the worst ending in the history of TV, and on the other end, to balance that out, would be my mom.”
Misc:
— “As i was walking down onto the stage I had an experience that I can’t believe they’re going to let us get away with it” — Lindelof.
— Re: Locke dying, then being taken over by another entity, Terry O’Quinn says he only knew he was now playing a different character a month before the audience. In previous episodes, the script only told the actor, “there’s something about Locke that’s different.”
AAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH i can’t effing wait, y’all!
The problem is this: just last night i was having quite a good time condescending about dumb morons who became suicidal after seeing Avatar and realizing that they’d never live in such a visually awesome but poorly written world.
Now, though, i wonder how long i’ll be able to make it post-Lost. it’s defined a large portion of my life for the past 5 years (most of what Lord of the Rings didn’t already cover). i’m going to become a non-speculative zombie after it ends.
